School library media coordinators use formative and summative assessments to collect data about student learning in the library media center and its impact on student achievement.

SLMC should ...

  • Think systematically and critically about the impact of the school library media program on student learning

SLMC can:

  • articulate an understanding of the impact of the school library media program on student learning and achievement

Proficient

SLMC should ...

  • Develop and implement a long-term strategic library program plan that

    • Is based on evidence and best practices.

    • Reflect the goals of the school improvement plan

    • Collect and use relevant data to improve their professional practice and the library media program..

SLMC can:

  • develop a strategic program plan that reflects best practices that are based on school needs that may include:

    • procedures,

    • procurement strategies, future improvements,

    • action steps and/or

    • goals
       

  • take action steps that are aligned to the
    school's library program plan.

    Improvement Plan in the development of the school's strategic library program plan
